I am looking to set up a grow room.

I m picking two clones from each mother plant to use in a side by side grow between a 315 lec vs hlg 300 quantum board led grow light. What i wanted to do was to set up four different 4x4 scrogs using a total of 16 plants that i could grow at different stages to head towards more of a perpetual harvest. In other words lec is a marketing name for a cmh light in a specific fixture not a new type of grow light technology. If you are comparing lec to high quality led grow lights then all of the advantages lec has over traditional hid bulbs are now disadvantages when compared to led and vice versa.

Brand new technology can be a cautious buy especially if the results are unproven. Grow lights have evolved from heavy magnetic in efficient ballasts and bulky reflectors to ultra efficient dimmable and spectrum tunable light emitting diodes led and ceramic metal halide cmh all in one fixtures. If i upgrade to a bigger tent i can add a similar setup and have pretty close to the equivalent of the hlg 550 for far less than what that light costs. With good led lights they draw fewer watts electric energy while producing brighter light as compared to regular grow bulbs.

A 2x4x6 grow tent 3 gallon pots full of mother earth coco coir and the flora trio plus calimagic as nutrients. My intention was to use led but after reading reviews online and then talking to lots of people i am not getting much good feedback on the led s. Seems like led is the way to go. Comparing lec and led lights might be a lot trickier than you think.
